Ft. Myers Beach Offshore Grand Prix
Every year Ft. Myers Beach hosts this race. This week-long event in May leads up to the 2 days of racing. 70-80 high performance boats race just off the beach. Lots of hoopla surrounds this party, including a motorcycle poker run, block party, parade and concert. All proceeds go to Shriners Childrens Hospital Transporation Fund for Lee County. "Flipper" says, come on down! Dolphins are plentiful in our waters and are magnificent to watch following the wake of your boat or chasing schools of fish. The fishing is great, just ask the dolphins. Take your own boat, rent a boat, or go out with the big boys.

The area abounds with eagles\\\' nests. Their majesty is unsurpassed. It is a priviledge to watch them soar above the trees and swoop down for a fish in the water.
